Cumbria Bright was founded by Carl and Michelle McGlasson — and more than ten years later, it's still run by the people whose names are on it. That matters, because cleaning is a trust business. You're handing over your keys, your home, your guest reviews.
We've completed over 1,000 holiday-let turnovers across the Lake District, hundreds of end-of-tenancy handovers for landlords and agents, and thousands of domestic cleans across West Cumbria. Our laundry arm, Zippy Bright, handles hotel-grade linen so turnovers don't depend on anyone's washing machine.
Everything runs on the operational systems we built for ourselves — digital checklists, photo verification, WhatsApp coordination with a real person. Not because it sounds good on a website, but because it's how you keep standards consistent when you're doing this at volume, every day, in all weather.

Our story
Cumbria Bright started the way most good things round here do — two people, a lot of hard graft, and a refusal to cut corners. Carl and Michelle built it from the ground up, on the tools, in real properties, on the tight turnarounds where there's nowhere to hide a shortcut.
Michelle is the name customers know for their regular cleans — "5 star every week," as one of them puts it — while Carl built out the holiday-let turnover side and the systems that keep the standard consistent at volume. Together they've grown it into a trusted local team cleaning homes, holiday lets, commercial premises and building sites right across West Cumbria, with sister company Zippy Bright handling the linen.
It's still theirs, still local, still hands-on — the people who set the standard are the same people who answer the phone.
